The Story
When Trish & Kelly got in touch with me to plan their son’s engagement party in Atlanta, it sounded like a fairly easy project. The sweetest couple, they were ecstatic that their only son had found his soulmate. The kicker? They live in North Carolina, their son and his fiancée live in San Francisco. The party was to be planned in Atlanta though, since that’s where the majority of their family and friends are.
No problem, was my immediate response! Remotely planning events for families scattered across the country (or even the world!) is one of my secret superpowers. Trish & Kelly were so relieved, and we began searching for the venue.
The Details
After scouring many venues across Atlanta, based on the couple’s preference of “something comfortable, not too fancy, and centrally located”, we all fell in love with The Marianna. I remember the conversation with Trish that night, where it felt like an episode of saying YES to the dress! The Marianna has a beautiful, historical feel with lovely hardwood floors and cozy spaces throughout. It felt like renting a special home with pretty architectural details, which is exactly what the family wanted!
The Evening
I met my clients for the first time, just a few hours before the big evening. It felt like we’d known each other for years, after weeks of working together to plan this day remotely. It turned out a beautiful fall evening in Atlanta, as Tucker and Kristina’s families and friends gathered together to celebrate the couple’s new beginnings. Live jazz, delicious hors d’oeuvres, rounds of champagne, beer from the restaurant’s own taps, and our personal touches of decor made for a lovely evening that I believe the couple will cherish forever.
